Inspiration.
Concept.
Offsets. Note that many of my cuts are making two parts, the way they're nested. Trade-off: all that scrap on the perimeter.
At this point, I haven't "tabbed" any vectors.
Freshly cut parts. 3mm ABS sheet** from:
www.interstateplastics.comBecause I set up my vectors manually, I know which cut is first, and last. My tabbing allows me to cut well-supported material at the slight expense of machine transit time. But there's a silver lining: The tabs are designed so that by just clipping a few, the whole parts kit can be broken apart quickly by hand for assembly or binning***. If you look closely, you can see that I've had the machine mark my drilling centers. I found it was faster to second-op these, than do a tool change on the CNC.
If I'd wanted holes no smaller than .125", I'd have run that size bit, and had the machine pop them thru for me.Assembled Prototype on Jin Gong AK47.
Ready for a dry-brush session. This item is NOT for sale- don't ask, I won't part with it...
I should post the vectors here, tho.
Anybody interested??
